There is a active investigation involving Nebraska Hunting Company and the owner Scott Croner. It seams Mr. Croner has been involved in taking hunters funds and NOT providing service or minimal service at best. One of his clients recently reported:
BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE
I had to warn anyone who would listen to me about an experience I had with Nebraska Outfitters owned by Scott Croner, Lincoln, NE. I purchased two guided hunts from this man for $4,600.00 and was led to believe that this would be the hunt of a lifetime. When I arrived at my destination, or so I thought, Scott Croner handed me a map and I found out the hunting spot was located 250 miles away from where I was originally told I was going to hunt. So off I drive, only to arrive at a cabin, in the middle of nowhere, which was infested with some sort of bugs! So bad, in fact, that I could not even sleep in the bed.
The days that followed were not much better. On opening day, Scott was not there, so I had to hunt off the balcony of the bug-infested cabin. He assigned a guide from another outfitter (Whispering Hills Hunting) for the remainder; however, he did not show up until 5:40 - 6:00 a.m. every morning, asked me to hunt on property that was outside my unit, etc. One of the most outrageous things I was asked to do was during my time of supposed hunting, the guide had me ride with him to check on his pheasants and dogs. Here I am riding around Nebraska with this guy checking his dogs and birds, while paying $4600.00 to hunt for the non-existent deer!!!
The meals that were to be provided were…..cold hamburgers and fries that were delivered to me by the guide. The hunt was supposed to include three meals per day. I was extremely lucky to get the one meal per day. It was 40 miles to the nearest town with a store, so one night I made a trip into town to avoid being hungry. On my third day I came back to the cabin to discover my gear was stolen!
These aren’t my only complaints, but enough that you all will get the picture. Feel free to contact me for any further information. This is all documented with video and still photography that is left after my cabin was burglarized while hunting.
Please use caution if you decide to choose Nebraska Outfitters and Whispering Hills Hunting for deer, duck or goose hunts.

Keep in mind you are soliciting people to harm me and that law enforcement will frown on that in court. It’s not our fault that you are too old to hunt and did not mention you have special mental needs! TAKE THE GOD DAMN SITE DOWN NOW!”
Hunters, don’t make the same mistake as I did. This is the first time Scott Croner has offered some form of acknowledgment or refund. Also note, it is with a condition. Hey Scott Croner how about you stop with your corrupt business practice and this way you won’t have people building sites like this nor will you have to offer a refund after THREE years. Finally, may you rot in hell for using the lords name that way.

Why more… just stop?
Joseph Scott Croner wife kicked him out, Nebraska Hunting Company is bankrupt, Scott’s broke, numerous threads on the Internet, and Scott Croner has 12 pending lawsuits/owes a lot of people, a lot of money.
Scott, the bright side is on the weekends when you go get your kid you’ll be able to “see” all your stuff and Scott, there is a valuable life lesson to be learned here. Never, I mean ever, piss off a women. They can be cruel and vicious especially after you lie and take their money.
I hunted with Scott during the 2010 turkey season. I did not do any research and took things at face value. The turkey hunt went ok (at best) despite the fact that he was racing to get me tagged out so he could go get drunk. I feel like a complete idiot for spending any money that might fund the stuff that he has done, and I was horrified to see what he did to his wife. I feel compelled to apologize to his estranged wife and family as well as anyone who was scammed by this guy. I should have spent my money elsewhere. I feel sick. I hope that the good folks of Brewster Nebraska figure him out and run him out of town.
Scott is NOT paying his BK payments..we ALL will never see a dime!

NOTICE OF TRUSTEE’S NOTICE OF PAYMENT DEFAULT
PURSUANT to General Order No. 09-03, you are notified as follows:
1.) Kathleen A Laughlin, Chapter 13 Trustee, has filed a Trustee’s Notice of Payment Default.
2.) Within 21 days of the mailing of the Notice of Payment Default or June 3, 2010, you must do one of the following:
A. Cure all existing payment defaults, including making your next scheduled payment due before expiration of the
21 day period;
OR
B. If the debtor disputes the existence of the payment default, debtor shall file a request with the Clerk that the
Notice of Payment Default be set for hearing. If the request sets forth facts in support of specific allegations of
good cause, the Clerk shall schedule the Notice of Payment Default for hearing upon affidavit evidence. At the
hearing, debtor shall be prepared to provide evidence that all plan payments have been made to the trustee and
that a default does not exist. If the request does not set forth genuine facts disputing the default, the court will
take no action on the request for hearing. The filing of a contested matter by the debtor such as an amended or
modified plan or motion to suspend payments, shall not constitute a dispute as to the existence of the default and
shall not, alone, preclude dismissal of the case.
No action will be taken by the court on a request for hearing that is simply seeking additional time to cure a
payment default or to take other action. If debtor is seeking additional time to respond to a trustee’s notice of
payment default, debtor shall make such request directly the trustee rather than file a request for hearing with the
Clerk;
OR
C. Enter into a stipulation with the Trustee that provides a specific method for curing the delinquency. Attached
hereto is a form stipulation that may be completed and faxed to the Trustee’s office at phone number (402) 530-
1869. The Trustee will then review the proposed stipulation and if she agrees to the proposed action for curing
the delinquency, the stipulation will be signed by the Trustee and filed with the court. If the Trustee is not in
agreement with the proposed method of curing the delinquency and will not enter into the stipulation, the attorney
for the debtor will be advised by fax transmission. If the debtor is not represented, the debtor will receive
notification from the Trustee by mail as to whether she will enter into the proposed stipulation.
3.) DISMISSAL UPON PAYMENT DEFAULT UPON DECLARATION OF THE CHAPTER 13 TRUSTEE
A Chapter 13 case shall be dismissed upon the filing of a declaration by the Chapter 13 Trustee establishing that
Notice of Payment Default was provided to the debtor and debtor’s counsel and that the debtor did not timely cure
the payment default or take other curative action satisfactory to the trustee. The declaration shall state that the
Chapter 13 Trustee has complied with this Local Rule, has served the Notice of Payment Default on the debtor
and debtor’s counsel, that the debtor has not timely cured the payment default and that the case should be

I had my run-in with Scott Croner when he ran this ad here in Missouri and I called for more information. The conversation sounded promising, but a bit too good to be true? So I asked Scott for some references and he promised he would provide them before we got started. A couple days later he called all excited telling me he had clients to hunt and when could we get started. The problem with Scott is he never stops talking and when I again asked for references he just kept talking.
Forty minutes into the conversation I lost my patience and raised my voice and straight-out told him no one can hunt here unless you provide me references because I don’t want problems because I can’t afford them. This just got him talking even more and then he told me the story on why he does not have any “local references” because of other people in Nebraska are jealous of his business and stuff. I wonder why at this point he put “local references available” on his ad when he clearly told me he does not have any?
He then told me a story about buying some ad-space on the Internet that he said ripped him off and start naming names and using words like his nemesis and stuff. I began to noticed our original conversation might just be all sizzle and no steak and told him I will need to think about it and I will call him. Scott then gave me some references that were not local.
Less then a week later Scott calls back and I tell him it’s a no go because I don’t want problems and he went bizerk on me. I then mentioned to Scott I called one of his internet references and my daughter also e-mailed them and we never got a contact back. The one reference I was able to get a hold of told me he never hunted with Scott and and has never met him personally. I also told Scott I looked him up on the Internet and there is some bad reviews about him and some very bad things about his personal life. Scott also failed to mention his Nebraska hunting business was filing for bankruptcy. I also called a hunting lodge mentioned on this website that Scott used and their answer was, we don’t even mention that name around here and then hung up on me.
After I told Scott all this his tone changed and then he asked me if I could help him because he has a son and he needs his business back on track and this is all he knows. I told him he needs to forget about the business for now and focus on his family and faith and possibly in the future we could do business but as of now I don’t want any problems or troubles.
Scott screamed profanity and said this is all a conspiracy against him by his nemesis and I am too much of a Bu**F#$@ing stupid farmer to see this and then hung up on me.

It first started when I met Scott in person. I am SE Asian(Hmong)and he asked me where I was from and then he mentioned “the North”. Scott has a tendency to talk too much (never stops)and promise the “a hunt of a lifetime”. I paid $4,600 and never even saw any game. Food consisted of cold burgers and fries. I was suppose to get 3 meals a day and averaged about one a day. After the third day I mentioned I wanted to leave and he can deduct 3 day hunt from my total. He refused and the guide “no-showed” the next morning. To be honest, I did not even finish my hunt because the conditions and attitude. Beware of Scott he can talk a good game, but it’s more a scam I think after I found other poor reviews on here. He needs to be stopped

I’d love to get you out here and experience a “real” Nebraska outfitter, one who cares about making sure you have the trip of your life. The total funds now exceeds $101,000. Joseph Scott Croner did not file his personal and business taxes, so the IRS has also put a Federal Tax Lien on his income.
